Training Registration

Select the bars below to access the Stanislaus County Office of Emergency Services (OES) available training courses and register. If registering for a Stanislaus County OES/Fire Warden/EMS Agency provided course, you will click the yellow Click Here to Register button which will take you to the LearningStream registration system. New users of LearningStream will need to sign up for an account by creating a login/password. Your training account will keep track of all your attended courses. The LearningStream registration system is automated and will send you notifications, electronic course evaluations and Certificates of Completion for your attended courses.

If registering for a TEEX Course, select the yellow Register button next to the specific course and it will redirect you to register on the TEEX website.

If registering for an Online ICS course, select the yellow Register button next to the specific online course and it will redirect you to register on the FEMA website.

Courses offered by Stanislaus County OES

National Incident Management System Training (NIMS)

Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 5 directed the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to develop a National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent national approach for Federal, State and local governments to work together to prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate domestic incidents. Federal, State and local agencies adopted NIMS and agreed to comply with its requirements. A core component of NIMS is training.

Stanislaus County has sponsored NIMS training with Homeland Security Grant funding since 2006. A wide array of classes are offered within Stanislaus County to assist local first responder agencies with NIMS training requirements.

ICS-100, ICS-700, ICS-200 and more are offered online through the FEMA Independent Study program. Click on the yellow Register button next to the online course and you will register on the FEMA website.

Emergency Medical Services Training (LEMSA)

Paramedic Orientation Class

Paramedics and Flight Paramedics are required to attend a 2-hour Paramedic Accreditation Orientation (PAO) and pass a CLOSED book, 90 question Paramedic Protocol exam. To enroll in a PAO, use the link provided in the Paramedic or Flight Paramedic Accreditation application - a completed application and payment of all fees is required prior to attending the orientation.

This orientation provides a brief explanation of the roles and responsibilities of an EMS Agency, as well as an introduction to EMS operations, hospital specialty centers, and select treatments that are unique to Stanislaus County EMS Agency.

MICN Certification Class

All initial Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) applicants are required to attend an MICN class and pass the online Paramedic Protocol exam and MICN Authorization exam. To enroll in an MICN class, use the link provided in the MICN Authorization application - a completed application and payment of all fees is required prior to attending the class.

The Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) class is designed to explain EMS policies, practices, procedures, and laws to assist with bridging the hospital and pre-hospital gap. MICN applicants will also learn radio communication techniques, overview of web based application EMResource, and the regional disaster mutual aid process.

EOC Management Team Training (EOCMT)

To be successful in managing the all-risk, all-hazards environment that we face today, individuals staffing our EOC must have both a breadth of knowledge and expertise. Stanislaus County must also have a depth of available staffing.

The EOC Management Team is trained to respond to events and incidents that would require EOC activation. The team may also be made available to other EOCs in our Operational Area (county) for deployment, if requested.
